Tasia Skoviak

Owner & Operator of Kaiju Translations

Welcome! Thanks for visiting.

Kaiju Translations is a one-woman operation with the goal of smashing the barriers to English language publication for Japanese authors and academics. I've been in the translation industry since 2015, and my professional experience spans millions of Japanese characters, hundreds of academic papers and abstracts, and dozens of unique subject areas ranging from neurosurgery case studies to environmental science course descriptions to full-length research papers on the prevention of frailty in older adults.

One thing I aim to emphasize is dialogue between author and translator, which is of particular importance when moving from Japanese to English, as the information emphasized and omitted often varies drastically between the two. Ensuring that the author's intention is communicated clearly and in a way that will feel natural to the target audience is what sets my work apart. I hope to build personal and lasting partnerships with my clients and to become a trusted facilitator in bringing their work to an international audience.
